Google Business Profile Management in Tucson
I run the profile. Categories, services, photos, posts, reviews, hours, and the website work behind it. You keep ownership of the account and I never ask you to hand over your password to an agency you cannot reach.
One consultant, in search since 1990. Month to month, no contract, and the person who answers the phone is the person logging into your profile.
Or call (520) 207-6000 and I will pull your profile up while we talk.

Most local businesses I talk to have a profile that was claimed once, filled in halfway, and then left alone. It still ranks for the business name and almost nothing else. This page is what I do about that, what it costs, and what you get in the first thirty days.
1990
In search since. I have managed local profiles since the product was called Google Places.
3
Listings Google puts in the Local Pack, above the first organic result, on most local searches.
$1,000
A month, everything included. Profile management is not a separate line item. No contract.
The Short Version
- I audit the profile first and give you the written findings whether or not you hire me.
- Foundation work comes before activity: category, name, address, phone, service area, services catalog, attributes, description.
- Then the ongoing part, which is where profiles actually win: reviews, photos, posts, monitoring, and the pages on your own site that hold the listing up.
- You stay the owner of the profile. I work as a manager on your account and you can remove me in two clicks.
- If you would rather do it yourself, the full method is on my Google Business Profile optimization guide. Nothing is held back there.
Why the Profile Is Worth Paying Attention To
Google publishes how local results are decided, which saves a lot of arguing. It comes down to relevance, distance, and prominence. Distance you cannot change. Relevance and prominence are the two you can buy work on, and both of them run through the profile.
What that looks like in practice, from profiles I manage: the change that moves a listing fastest is almost never a clever tactic. It is a category that was too broad, a services section with one entry instead of fifteen, hours that were wrong on holidays, or six months with no new reviews. Those are boring problems and they are worth money.
There is a second reason it matters more in 2026 than it did two years ago. Google shut down the Business Profile Q and A API on November 3, 2025 and retired the public Q and A section from listings over the following months, replacing it with AI generated answers pulled from the profile, the reviews, and your website. Sterling Sky tracks these changes as they roll out. That means the profile and the site are now the raw material an AI uses to answer a customer's question before they ever click. Thin profile, thin answer.
What Google Business Profile Management Includes
Here is the actual scope. Not a package tier list, because the work is different depending on what shape the profile is in when I get it.
Audit and foundation
Full profile audit against the current guidelines. Claim, verification, or ownership transfer if the listing is stranded on an old employee's Google account. Name, address, and phone checked against your website, your invoices, and the major directories. Primary and secondary category selection. Service area configured for how you actually work.
Completeness and catalog
Every field filled. Attributes including payment and accessibility. Description written for a person, with the main service and the city in the first sentence. Services broken out one at a time, because hot tub removal, mattress disposal, and garage cleanout are three different searches and one entry called junk removal misses all three. Products if you sell any.
Photos and posts
Real photos of real jobs, added monthly, not a stock library dumped in once. Your truck, your crew, the before and after, the front of the building. Google Posts on a weekly cadence for offers, updates, and seasonal work. Posts are a weak ranking signal and a real signal of a business that is still open.
Reviews, done compliantly
A request system that fires after the job is finished, to the customer's own phone, with no script attached. Monitoring, and a written response to every review including the bad ones. On April 17, 2026 Google prohibited staff review quotas and asking customers to name a specific employee. If your current provider still runs either one, that is a policy problem sitting on your listing.
Monitoring and competitors
Profiles get edited by strangers. Hours change, categories get suggested, a duplicate appears, a competitor reports your name. I watch for unauthorized edits, duplicate listings, and suspension risk, and I check where you actually rank from several points around your service area rather than from one address.
The website behind the listing
Past a couple of miles from your pin, the site is what carries you. Name, address, and phone in the footer sitewide in the same format as the profile. LocalBusiness structured data tying the site and the profile together as one entity. A real page per service and per city you serve. Citation cleanup across the directories that still matter, including Apple Maps.
What It Costs
There is no separate line item for this. Profile management is part of the one price I charge, which is published, month to month, with no onboarding fee and no discovery phase you pay for before any work happens.
| Engagement | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Profile audit | Free | I go through your profile and your top three local competitors and send you the written findings. You keep it whether or not you hire me, and some people take it straight to their current agency. That is fine with me. |
| Monthly engagement | $1,000 a month | Everything on this page. Profile management is included, not an add-on, alongside technical SEO and three to ten pages of new content a month, including the service and city pages that extend your reach past your own address. |
I do not sell profile management as a standalone product, and I will tell you why. The profile hits a ceiling in about two months, and the ceiling is almost always the website. Selling you the profile alone would mean charging you every month for work that stops producing, which is a worse deal for you and a worse result for me. So it is one price with everything in it. The full cost breakdown is here, including what should never cost extra.
The First Thirty Days, and Then Every Month
You will see the first deliverable inside the first week. Here is the sequence.
- Week one, the audit. Your profile, your website's local signals, and the three competitors actually beating you in the Local Pack, written up as a prioritized list. You get this before you commit to anything.
- Week one, access. You add me as a manager on your own profile. I do not take ownership and I do not want your Google password. If we part ways you remove me and nothing of yours leaves with me.
- Week two, foundation. Category, name, address, phone, service area, hours including holidays, attributes, and duplicate cleanup. This is the part that changes rankings, and it is unglamorous.
- Weeks two and three, catalog and media. Description written, services broken out individually, first photo set uploaded and captioned, website link pointed at the most relevant page rather than always the homepage.
- Week three, reviews start. The request process goes live, compliant with the April 2026 policy, and I begin responding to every review including the backlog.
- End of month one, baseline. Where you ranked from several points in your service area when we started, what moved, and what is queued for month two.
After that, every month: photos added, posts published weekly, reviews requested and answered, profile watched for unauthorized edits, performance data reviewed for which queries you are matching, and categories rechecked a few times a year because Google adds and retires them quietly.
What I Will Not Do to Your Profile
Worth stating plainly, because several of these are still being sold in Tucson.
- Stuff keywords into your business name. It is a direct guideline violation, it is the easiest thing in the world for a competitor to report, and it is the most common cause of suspension I see.
- Buy, trade, or write reviews. Ever, for any reason, at any price.
- Screen customers for happiness before sending them a review link, or hand them a tablet in the shop. Reviews collected on one device get filtered, so you pay for reviews that disappear.
- Set review quotas for your staff or ask customers to name a technician. Both were prohibited in April 2026.
- Register a virtual office or mailbox as a storefront address. Those get caught, usually months later, and the profile vanishes overnight.
- List forty cities in your service area that you would drive to once. Overreaching dilutes the profile instead of extending it.
If Your Profile Is Already Suspended
I take these. The order matters: fix the cause first, then appeal. Appealing without fixing anything nearly always fails and burns a cycle, and cycles are slow. I gather the business license, a utility bill at the address, photos of the signage, and vehicle wraps, file the reinstatement, and expect one to three weeks. If the underlying problem is a name violation or an address that does not qualify, I will tell you that before you pay me, because no appeal fixes it.
Who Does the Work
I do, personally. I am David Cragg. I have been in search since 1990, I hold a BA in Economics from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Washington, and I founded and sold two internet marketing companies, Lotus411 and MSD2D, before starting Temecula SEO in 2007 and moving the practice to Tucson in 2022.
There is no account manager between us and no junior learning on your listing. The profiles behind the examples on this page are ones I log into, including a junk hauling company and a dental practice in Southern California and clients here in Southern Arizona.
I take one client per competitive niche per zone. I will not run two plumbers in Oro Valley against each other. Ask whether your niche is open.
On how this page is written: I use AI tools to draft and to check my own work. AI does not supply the facts about your business, it does not invent sources, and nothing goes up here that I have not read first. Every policy date above links to where you can verify it. If you find a claim on this site you cannot verify, call me and I will fix it or pull it. The full background, with the filings and press coverage you can check.
What Clients Say on Google
These are Google reviews, reproduced as written. They were left on my Temecula SEO profile in Southern California, where I practiced from 2007 until I moved here in 2022. I would rather tell you that than let you assume a Tucson newcomer arrived with two decades of local reviews. Same consultant, same work, different state.
I have been using Dave's SEO services for over 3 years now and I'm very happy with the results. My business Google ranking has been steadily improving since he's taken over. I appreciate all his efforts and expertise and looking forward to many more years working with him.
Bao Nguyen Promenade Dental Care · Google reviewWe have worked with David for over a year now and he is great to work with. David has built us a great new website that we love and our Google ranking has improved significantly. David is a great guy and works day and night to help you. I highly recommend Temecula SEO. Thank you David for your hard work.
Jason Moat Moat Termite Control · Google review, Temecula SEOIf you are looking for help with SEO, or anything related, David is your man! I talked to several other companies before talking to David, and I knew right away he was different. He is extremely professional, responsive, affordable, and effective. Most importantly, I trust that he is looking out for my best interest. He takes a very hands-on approach and always takes the time to listen to the changing needs of my professional business. His wealth of knowledge is invaluable. He had my business seeing results almost immediately. Thank you David for all your hard work! Best in the business!
Luke Hendrix Marketing consultant · Google review, Temecula SEOI made a decision to hire David with Temecula SEO about a year ago now, and it has changed the presence of my company online greatly. I would highly recommend giving David a chance if you are looking for an honest SEO company.
Jordan Johnson Google review, Temecula SEODavid at Temecula SEO is a unique professional. He has been in the industry almost longer than the web has been around. He cares about my success and spends as much time as it takes to make my business succeed. I wish that I could afford to pay him more.
Dr. Ryan Marshall, D.C. Marshall Chiropractic · Google review, Temecula SEODavid is great to work with. He takes his job seriously, and is a wealth of knowledge not only in SEO but also business in general. If you are looking for someone to handle SEO for you, you can stop looking now.
Russ Colburn Google review, Temecula SEOCalled to inquire about services. Dave was extremely helpful in providing knowledge and guidance for a small business getting started.
Lou Ramirez Google review, Temecula SEODave does much more than “just” SEO, or at least he does everything even tangentially related to SEO. Not just finding keywords and maximizing them, but rather looking at things at their foundation so we get the best possible results. Dave is very hands-on and blazingly fast with execution. I'm sure I've tried his patience as I know just enough to be annoying and not near enough to do a good job of this myself. He manages to explain what I need explained in a “for dummies” level but without making me feel like an idiot.
With a lot of people our company works with, we are ready for their services before they are. This is especially true of some of our previous marketing efforts. We try not to get too impatient. With Dave on the other hand, we can't keep up. And our results have improved dramatically very quickly!

Where I Manage Profiles
The greater Tucson metro and most of Southern Arizona. Every community out here behaves differently in the Local Pack. The three listings that show in Oro Valley are not the three that show on the south side, and a Green Valley retiree searching for a dentist does not search the way a 28-year-old in Sam Hughes does. I check your rankings from points around the area you actually cover, not from one pin.
- Oro Valley
- Green Valley
- Marana
- Sahuarita
- Catalina Foothills
- Tucson
- South Tucson
- Vail
- Corona de Tucson
- Oracle
- Tubac
- Benson
Not on the list? If you are within about an hour of Tucson, call and ask.

Questions About Profile Management
Is Google Business Profile the same thing as Google My Business?
Yes. Google renamed the product in 2021. Same listing, same dashboard lineage, different label. If a provider is still sending you documents that say Google My Business in 2026, that tells you when their process was last updated.
Do you take ownership of my profile?
No. You stay the owner and you add me as a manager on your own Google account. I do not want your password and I do not create the listing under my agency's account, which is how businesses end up locked out of their own profile after a bad breakup with a marketing company.
If we stop working together you remove my access in two clicks. The profile, the reviews, and the photos are yours and they stay where they are.
What do you actually need from me to get started?
Manager access to the profile, your legal business name as registered, the name and address and phone exactly as you want them published, and your real hours including how you handle holidays.
The one thing I cannot do without you is photos. I need job photos from your phone every month, and that is the only recurring homework I assign. Ten real ones beat fifty stock images, and customers can tell the difference immediately.
Is profile management included in the $1,000 a month, or is it extra?
Included. There is no add-on fee, no per-post charge, and no separate review software subscription. The $1,000 covers profile management, technical SEO, and three to ten pages of new content a month.
I do not offer it as a standalone service either. Local work and organic work feed each other, and a well run profile attached to a thin website stalls inside a couple of months. Charging you a monthly fee past that point would be taking your money for work that has stopped moving anything.
Can you manage profiles for multiple locations?
Yes, and the work changes shape. Multiple locations need separate profiles with distinct categories and service areas, a store locator and a real page per location on the website, and consistent name and address and phone formatting across all of them.
The failure mode is a chain where all five listings point at the homepage and share one generic description. Google reads that as five copies of the same thing and picks a winner for you. Call me with the location count and we will talk about what the engagement looks like.
What does the monthly report look like?
Plain, short, and about outcomes. Calls, direction requests, and website clicks from the profile. Which search terms you matched. Where you rank from several points around your service area rather than from your own front door, because Local Pack results are not one list.
Then what I did that month and what is queued for the next one. No fifty-page dashboard export nobody reads.
My current agency manages my profile. Can you tell me if they are doing it right?
That is exactly what the free audit is for, and you are welcome to take the findings back to them instead of hiring me. It happens regularly and it does not bother me.
The things I look for first: keywords jammed into the business name, a primary category that is broader than what you do, a services section with one entry, no photos in the last six months, unanswered reviews, and a name and address and phone that does not match your website footer. Any of those is a sign the listing is being maintained on autopilot.
Can you guarantee I will be in the top three on Maps?
No, and walk away from anyone who does. Distance from the searcher is a published ranking factor and nobody can move your building. A guarantee usually means the provider chose search terms nobody uses so the promise is easy to keep.
What I will do instead is look at your profile and your three closest competitors before you pay anything, and tell you honestly whether I think I can move you. If I do not think I can, I will say so on the call.
